My Everyday Science resource, developed by Jenny Watson and made freely available to schools has proved so popular with teachers that it will be part of our remote learning offer that is taken forward as simply good practice in normal practice.
A series of cards (A5 and easy to print) each have an enquiry or activity that can be done at home with basic and readily available equipment. This is a chance to flip learning with some activities used as learning home tasks before a topic to compliment the teaching. Some schools are planning to use the resource as a science club with different challenge cards set as extra curricular science. There is even some thinking that these resources will support parental engagement and that the exploration together of families enjoying science can continue through a science at home pack. And finally of course- teachers could use the ideas for lessons in school with simple and low cost experiments mapped to topics.
Meet Dr Jenny Watson at the SATC focussed meet- the first session is to find out what the resource is all about and the later meeting is for this wanting to take the resource further. Join either or both – you are very welcome.
